When Music Forte first opened up the gates to the newly designed website, the excitement of jumping right in with eMusic (the worlds largest retailer in Mp3) was very exciting.

However, there were unforeseen delays.  As a result of that, many artists were put into a waiting queue.  Music Forte had overlooked the collection of vital data for tracking music sales through Neilsen’s SoundScan (which powers the infamous Billboard Charts).  The data we were missing was the ISRC for songs and UPC for albums.

As an apology to those artists who were in queue, we contacted them via email, and asked for them to provide their ISRC and UPC information.  Many of them replied immediately.  For those who had never purchased this information, we told them we’d purchase it for them. 

But we don’t want to stop there.  We got to thinking that it would be good to extend this offer to members, who had not orginally signed up for distribution!

Why?  We want to build a buzz.  We want to get a strong footing in our eMusic distribution, as well.  What this means to you, is if you upload your album at Music Forte, and agree to the eMusic distribution, we will take care of your UPC and ISRC codes absolutely free! 

Not only does this save you a lot of time, paperwork and money, but you’ll be able to use that ISRC and UPC for other distribution outlets. 

Music Forte ONLY distributes to eMusic at this time.  So if you want to also sell your music at iTunes or other major outlets, you’ll be all set to go. Music Forte of does not get any part of profits outside of eMusic.  That is not how UPC and ISRC codes work.  They simply help to identify and track the music.  But these codes do not come cheap, and the process of acquiring them can be lengthy.

How can you take advantage of this? Log in or create an account immediately at Music Forte and upload an album.  Please use a coverart size of 600 x 600 pixels (at a minimum).  We will resample it to show well, on the site, as will eMusic.  If you have a UPC, there is a form to provide that.  After you have looked over the distribution agreement with eMusic, elect to distribute at the bottom of the form.  For the ISRC, you will need to submit it to our support email address.  If we do not receive the ISRC, we will simply purchase it for you.

This is an amazing opportunity, and I’d guess to say it has not been provided anywhere before.  It’s not cheap, and there aren’t too many places that are able to provide eMusic distribution to such a large group of artists.  For that reason, it will only be offered for the next 500 artists, and this promotional offer will end tonight, so don’t wait too long!
