Little Bits

Title: Blue

Buy CDs at Music Forte
There is both a heavy sadness and an uplifting feeling of hope across "Blue" the latest release from singer/songwriter Jannel Rap.

In 1998, Rap released her 3rd CD "Sea of RED" an excellent disc that received 4 pre-Grammy Nominations (the vote immediately before those that appear on the final ballot) On "Blue", her 4th CD, Rap again demonstrates her knack for writing and singing original material that fuses country and rock, as well as folk and blues.

Because many of the songs deal with the disappearance of her sister Regina Bos in Oct.2000, there is an unmistakable heartfelt quality that stretches across the disc, notably during piano-driven "Warrior", "Little Bits" and "The Thing Is".

Rap is an excellent singer, armed with a voice that projects even in the lowest end of her range.

While many singers use excess volume and high notes in a quest to showcase fabricated emotion and to impress: Rap sings from the heart with disarming honesty.

Robert Kinsler OC Register Nov. 2001

Jannel had regional success on her first 3 CD's on both the Westcoast and in the Midwest which included: a full tour schedule during 1995-1999 and in-studio appearances at many radio stations and TV stations. Jannel has recently opened for Nickel Creek, the Yard Birds and Sophie B. Hawkins.

Jannel's, 40 year old sister, Regina(GINA)Bos, disappeared from Lincoln, NE October 17, 2001. That night Gina was playing her guitar and singing at Duggan's Pub. She was last seen with her guitar over her shoulder saying goodbye to friends while walking out of the Pub. The next morning her car was found across the street from the Pub, trunk ad jar, guitar inside. Gina has not been seen since. There has been no clear evidence found to point in any direction. Gina's disappearance inspired Jannel to organize G.I.N.A. (Greater Information Now Available) for Missing People.
GINA for Missing Persons, INC is dedicated year round to finding ways of getting the faces and profiles of the missing out to a national public.

Title: Sea Of Red

Buy CDs at Music Forte
Discover Jannel Rap, a proven artist with the guarantee of hooking you into her world. See why people place value in this artists ability to pull in new results on every song. Find out for yourself!

"Sea of RED" the title track, is inspired by Jannel's childhood of growing up in the legacy of the "Nebraska Cornhuskers". Jannel's 6 brothers and sisters never had the money to attend a Nebraska Game or a color TV to watch it on! So the family would pack up and go watch Nebraska Games on Grandma's living room floor. Jannel saw her hometown turn RED on game days and all that RED on Grandma's color TV turned into a "Sea of RED" in Jannel's childhood memory. Jannel is credited for having coined the phrase "Sea of RED" before newscasters and press started using it as a household phrase....although, we don't think you can copyright and claim royalties on a phrase ;) Too Bad!

"No Woman's Land", "Clementine Street", "Late Bloomer" and the famed "Sea of RED" are favorites in Jannel's live show. Jannel has had the opportunity of performing prior to many Husker Games all over the country since the release of "Sea of RED".

"Sea of RED" is a must!

Jannel's sister Regina "Gina" Bos disappeared after a performance in Lincoln, NE Oct.17, 2000. If you have information that will help to solve this case or you would like to get involved in the search for Gina and other missing people please log on to:Ginaformissingpersons.com

Title: Clementine Street

Buy CDs at Music Forte
"Clementine Street," Jannel's first solo project, was recorded mostly live in a large 1930's living room with hard wood floors. The neighbors got a little upset one night when the band continued past 10:00 PM. So they politely quit and started up again the following morning. The whole experience gives "Clementine Street" that homegrown appeal often lacking in the current slick pop pro-tools era.

"Clementine Street" is credited for getting Jannel's name out there to the listening public. 4 of the songs received airplay: "Clementine Street," "Okay You Win," "I Will Never" and the one that made some kind of chart somewhere at least in the royalties dept, "Under Your Breath". Clementine Street remains a performance favorite. Jannel just can't do a show with out it. Additionally, "One Sided Love" is a staple to Jannel's live shows. "Ok, You Win" co-written with Harriet Schock has been recorded by 5 different artists and has received national airplay in the US. Jannel still gets calls that someone has heard, "OK, You Win" when driving across country.

All in all, a good project!

"GINA for MISSING PERSONS," INC is an organization that Jannel created in her missing sister Gina's honor to help find missing children and adults. Regina "Gina" Bos disappeared Oct 17, 2000 from Lincoln, NE. To find out more about GINA for MISSING PERSONS, INC and Jannel go to Jannel.org
