I play the a six string bass as my main instrument after years of playing a four string.
It's taken a little time to get used to but I'm getting there.
Does anyone else have any experience with a six string? |

Sorry, I do't have any experience with that. But may I ask why you decided to switch to a 6-string bass? And why not a 5-string bass?
I play a normal 4-string bass and I've always wondered what the advantage of more strings is really... |

| The only gain is 5 lower notes and less movement around the frettbroad. |

I still play my old fender 4string but I did play a 5 string in the 90's but I sould it for computer parts
I found it very easy to change from one to the other. the extra low notes where a huge bonus and being able to play 2 octives without doing too much shifting was great.
I have played 6 strings at jam sessions and in music stores and if I had the money and wasn't so addicted to hardware I would have one in a second...
That is after I I buy a 5 string electric upright cyber bass.
Oh well just bought a Kaos Pad 3 and it took me a long time to save up for that so I guess I will have to bide my time
And make more money! |

I've got a 4 string fretless. I have a hip-shot tuner on the low string to go to a D instead of E. It's really cool. I've played a few 6's....... It's like playing on a landing strip. A little wide for my taste, but to each their own!!!

Very cool if you've got the time to understand setting it up. I would advise anyone to get one of these. As guitars don't play in a lower range on D chords typicaly.... This allows the bass to fill in the bass range. I love mine!!!
