Some of these responses in this thread is hilarious. I remember a couple months back, I had to ask my friend what it meant coz all I heard was "So you like Emo or wasn't that Emo?" All I kept asking myself was, "What's that?" But yes, Emo means music that is emotionally charged. I guess when I feel like I'm not keeping up with the slang, I just feel old. LOL
