Greg,

The two-folder system on the player has certainly solved the problem of figuring out who's songs your listening to. But... when it comes to collaborations, whoever gets to upload the song is the one who'll have it showing in his MY SONGS folder, while the other collaborator/s will have it showing in the SONGS BY OTHER ARTISTS folder (since the only way to have it at all is by 'adding' it from the uploader's page). Furthermore, all the stats and notifications pertaining to that song are viewable only by the member who uploaded it.

Is there any way each of the artists involved in a collaboration can have their song show in the proper folder? And could the information regarding that song be shared in any way by all those who collaborated?

I'm not a programmer, but I can imagine this is not a simple task. But, then again, maybe there's a way... Think

Thank you for giving this some thought, and please don't hate me for bringing it up. Rolling Eyes

When the song is posted it should be by the original creator of the piece. Having said that, however, proper etiquette in my book is to list the collaborator in the Artist section, i.e. Joe Blow with So & So. That way both participants get the deserved credit. Also, in the Lyrics/comments section, an explanation of the participating collaborator and their part in the composition would be fair and equitable I should think. These small items should settle the Artist Credit problem. As for any sales, well, the artists would have to work that out between themselves if it really comes to that, but in all fairness, collaborative cuts should be free downloads in my book, just like cover songs should be due to the copyright issues involved.

Just my two cents for what it's worth.

Oh, and I mustn't forget another shameless plug for my page and my music. I have something to say musically, you just may not understand all of the lingo!
