Music Forte is available to members of any country. However, some countries may have laws that prohibit members from conducting affiliate-related business.
This is a question for the participating member to consider. Music Forte reports all commission payments to the IRS. However, they are not all reported in the same area. US residents are required to complete a W9. If they earn over $600, they are then required to report their income to the IRS. In this case, they receive a 1099-Misc form from Music Forte. If a member does not earn over $600 in a tax year from Music Forte, they are not required to report the income. Non US residents are required to digitally sign a form of "No US Activities". All of this information is available to Platinum Members in the "Platinum Member > Tax Information" area when you login to your account.
The best way to get paid is up to you. We send payments via STP, PayPal, and check. This allows us to effectively cover many countries. we do send checks outside the US. However, there have been a few cases that a member claims there check was not received. Because of this, we provide additional methods of shipping which include tracking numbers.
If you live outside the US and are requesting a check for payment, of if you just have a large sum of money coming to you and you want to protect those funds, I recommend members to pay the slight additional shipping fee fee to provide a tracking number on your mail. |
