What's your favorite jazz drummer? I'd have to say Charlie Watts is a good drummer. Even though he's part of the Stones, he's been in a jazz band on the side. I wonder if this puppet would like his style of drumming..

Even though Fash is not a great drummer, he could learn from the great drummers now.. And why doesn't he have a band? He'd definitely have more girls screaming for him, if he did.

Elvin Jones - He autographed my Jazz Piano Book writing, "To my best friend, Greg - Elvin Jones". Of course, he was just playing around.

I cheerish the memory.

Yes, I also enjoy Jeff Hamilton. One of my favorite CDs is "Ray Brown Trio: Live at the Concord Jazz Festival".

Jeff plays on that.

Locally, nobody beats Duncan Moore.

The legends are wonderful, but what's happening in our own backyards in TODAY's scene is also important. I mostly know San Diego. There's a great girl drummer in the local jazz scene now too, Jeanette Kangas, had the pleasure of working with her recently. incredible listener! responding dynamically, wonderful to work with.
