I'm a "Vintage" guitarist myself. I started playing bass in 1968 and switched to guitar in '71.
I've been playing my LesPaul since I bought it in '73. |

| been playing bass guitar for 27 years and guitar for 20. I was a young teenager when I went to see rush in concert way back in the late 70's. I was so amazed at Geddy Lee's playing and sound that I decided right then and there I wanted to play bass and hopefully own me a rickenbacker one day.. Well I bought a rickenbacker 4001 in 1985 and just last week I bought a rickenbacker model 360 12 string.. man I am in love with this guitar. I cant wait to record with it. My collection of guitars now includes my rickenbacker 4001 bass, rickenbacker 360 12 string electric hollow body, les paul studio electric, and a takamine F400S 12 string acoustic. |

I'm playing for 32 years. Acoustic guitar only, never electric. First classical, then Latin, Blues, Pop, Folkpicking, Ragtime, then my own fingerstyle stuff. Still so much to discover. Bored? Never!
Some advice from my point to not going downhill after 15 years of playing:
• find some interested students and give lessons. Teaching others will improve your own knowledge of theory as well as your technical skills. It's fun also.
• always go one step further, not too many steps at once
• steelstring guitarists: try open tunings, a lot of new doors will open
• study popular songs, not necessarily by tabs, but figure them out by listening. Learn your favourite songs by heart, make them your own songs (Eva Cassidy!)
• keep learning from the masters. Visit their concerts, buy their CDs/DVDs and join their workshops!
• always keep your guitar within reach
• stagefright? read Kenny Werner: “Effortless Mastery“ (Ed. Jamy Aebersold)
That's it for the moment, though there's a lot more to say.
Going on now for the next 32 years of playing.
stay tuned, Marcus |

Piano since 1944!! (makes me an old man don't it?). Started taking piano lessons at age 8, and I'll be 70 in November. Started in classical, then migrated to pop, then played keyboard with some country bands over the last 30 yrs.
I still sit in with bands when called, but mostly playing with myself (LOL). I record in my garage studio and write some when the inspitation is there. Now I'm gravitating back to my roots (classical & pop). |

| Hey guys, I've been playing for one year. I don't stick to specific genres, I just play whatever wants to come out. Lovely sense of freedom like that. |
