|
|
I'm getting closer to understand what I need to do.
I don't have a Mac, so I don't get Garageband. Feedburner sems to recommend Audacity. Has anyone used it? It's free which is a good start, but I'd like to hear from someone before I install it and start using it.
It does sound like I can use it to record some voice, mix in a track and basically create a complete podcast. Bugger, why are there only 24 hours in a day. I want to record some of my new songs. Songbird has given me some music to add lyrics too, I need to do some more promotion and I need to practice so I can start doing some more gigs next week, hey I'm digressing, this was supposed to be about Podcasting. is anyone here doing it?
If not, we need to start doing it and sharing information about what works and what doesn't.
Whew, my heart is racing just thinking about all the things I gotta do! |

Sup, Blue,
Yeah i use Audacity 4 all my computer audio recordings, it is limited on features but its fine if u just wanna record audio and since its free im not complaining.
U can export to mp3 or ogg.
4 mp3 export u may need 2 download an extra bit of code.
but when i went lookin i think found it on google in about 5 mins. If not email me and ill send it u.
As to rss feeds ive not made a podcast yet so im in the dark on that.
So pls Post your findings when uve time.

Well I got a little way along the road. I have installed Audacity, but having spent a while recordin my new song, I haven't sat down to work out how to use it.
I downloaded LAME MP3 Encoder as well and instructions although I haven't installed it yet.
If I have it right, the Podcast idea for MF is simply to post your songs as Podcasts. has anyone done that. I suspect it would be difficult to get people to subscribe or listen to them if it is just the songs. Tell me if I am wrong, I'll try anything and everything subject to time.
My idea, when I find time and work out how to use Audacity is to create a Podcast where I can play my songs, talk about them and maybe get on a soap box from time to time. Maybe I'll create a song about my journey as a songwriter and my mission to be able to turn it into a profession one day.
Of course I'l also talk about this wonderful place at MusicForte and try to bring some people over to listen to all my awesome friends here:-) |

I've just got myself a copy of Acid 6 which looks to be far more powerful and maybe even easier to use than anything else I have tried so far. I also own a copy of FL Studio Producer Edition but the main reason I bought it was because it was supposed to make it easy for me to include the vocals. I never did figure out how to do that, so I have downloaded and paid NZ$700 for something I am not using:(
I had some lessons on Acid the other day. We plugged my Tascam Digital PortaStudio straight into my computer, played the guitar through the Tascam complete with effects and then plugged my Midi keyboard straight into the PC, snapped it all together and within half an hour had some music going with drum loops, synthsand guitar. That got me really excited, but I don't have much time this weekend.
Now this is a Feedbuner forum and what am I on about? Well now I have the ability to quickly and easily create my own podcast complete with fades, background music an anything else I want to add. I am running out of excuses other than time, to get my first podcast recorded! Maybe Sunday:) Then I will definitely be off to Feedburner:) |

Hey Luigi did you get your podcast thing worked out? I was just reading through this post, and I think that the Garageband thing you heard about, wasn't the software.....It was the web site. I signed up and accidentaly posted my songs to a podcast. It was just the songs......But I downloaded myself off of I-TUNES!!! Kind of cool to think about.....anyway.....Heres a link.... http://www.garageband.com/artist/SamDrummerBoy
That is my site. Easy to podcast. I did it on accident...lol |
