Okay so I decided to see if anyone is really serious about this........Lets see what happens......

Here is what I did:
I posted a track 10 and a half minutes of me screwing arround on the drums. I played at 120 bpm.
I tried this with cubase and it was flawless.
I posted a free mp3 download on my jamwave site.

http://www.jamwave.com/SamDrummerBoy

Go there and download track 8 "Drum Colab 1" then put it in cubase (import track) Set the tempo to 120 bpm .......you should be able to cut and paste it measure by measure or phrase by phrase. This is a little clue how my stuff usually come together lol.
Like I said it worked flawlessly for me, in cubase that is. I can't say for other programs, because that is all I use.

Anyways lets see who is serious. I am not going to make a bunch of excuses for the quality of recording or musicianship......other than.......I don't see this as a final track. I wanted a quick download so I didn't post wav files. That is why I'm not using the ftp server.

Well lets see who is serious about colaborating!!!

Sam,...I wouldn`t have the slightest clue what to do, because I use a grand total of zero computer programs to record my music...I don`t have a clue what cubebase is, or how to use it...so if you want to collaborate with me, your gonna` have to do it the old-fashioned way...drive your ass to Arkansas, and bring your drums with you...lol...peace out...Drop The Sun

If you do use my playing, please let me know. I don't expect much.........lol...........No seriously It could be a lot better. I didn't even tune the drums. lol

I think it would be nice to know who is working with it. Please post.

See you tomorrow Lee.......LOL

Taylor, download that drum track. Put some killer bass stuff to it than upload just the bass track. I will try to structure some sort of song out of it and we'll see what happens. .....Or you could structure a song out of the drum and bass tracks. Whatever? Then we'll see who wants to do guitar...keys...harp.....tuba....lol whatever?

I can try my hand at many instruments, but my little home studio just doesn't have a lot of options when it comes to drums, so I would love to receive some samples to toy with. Shoot me a file of just about any size at OnTimeTalent@yahoo.com. Smile If you, like I can also tell you what songs I'm specifically looking to add drums to so you can give them a listen. Smile

Anyone else that wants to add something, go for it. There is no intended song stucture in my track. Just a few beats of the top of my head. Put something cool to it and let me know. Noone has done a track yet so it is still wide open..........

Okay, so I am probably the most impatient person I know.......It's been 6-7 downloads and still nothing....... If someone is working on something.....PLEASE let me know. Give me some feedback.......Too fast too slow too busy or just plain Sucks........whatever? (There is a lot more where that came from. Use all you want, I'll make more!) I just want to know if it is going somewhere. Otherwise I will just have to be patient and wait.

I tried to start something.......does anyone really want to do something? Give me some kind of feedback. Faster, slower, less drums Evil or Very Mad (I don't know why anyone would want that?) more drums Laughing , .........Let me know. Unless someone tells me something I guess I will just let it go......... Sad

Bring it on buddy! Give me -or us, some structured beats in a 'song like'

format, and its on!

The 10 to 12 minute drum track is workable within the realm of improv as well as jamming, however I need more strucutred beats to build a song
within your beat (s).

Think Danny Carrey, Martin Lopez, Mars Volta, Carter Beauford of DMB,
and so on...

Let me know what you think.

Also, I am open to brushes or sticks

And secondly, I prefer times in 3/4 and 5/4 [b]-but 4/4 is great as well...

(I still suck at the 5 pc. drums as much as I can make a guitar or bass sqeal...)

Much Obliged... Bring on the new tunes...

Thom Yorke:

I think sometimes all the charities are doing is mopping up the blood. It's a shame.

Frank Zappa:

The United States is a nation of laws: badly written and randomly enforced.

still more...

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

Beck

I'm the artist formally known as Beck. I have a genius wig. When I put that wig on, then the true genius emerges. I don't have enough hair to be a genius. I think you have to have hair going everywhere.

Bob Marley

I don't stand for the black man's side, I don' t stand for the white man's side.I stand for God's side.

Okay I'm into this. I want to get something going to see what happens. It has to start somewhere........So I tried to start something. I guess I should be clear.........I have never written a drum part to a song that doesn't exist yet. So I put up some beats (possible loops) to see if someone could add something and put it into some sort of song. Granted, the beats are nothing more than ideas. I usually do fills and things (changes and variations to the beat itself) based on what other instruments are doing. As there are no other instruments......The beats are just ideas. Okay.........now I am just rambling........ideas, beats, drums, loops,................. I guess as it stands I need someone to give something to the cause. Give me an idea of where it is going. Maybe I can come up with more of a structured track. Let me know what part of the 10 min track was the most interesting (Or at least tolerable) and also maybe something to listen to for more inspiration on what I should do different or better.

If this is to go anywhere, I need some help getting there. I don't know how to create something from scratch that is completely structured ready to go without a little something to listen to for some other ideas. Throw out some of your improv stuff or something. That is the next step as I see it.

I think this could be fun. So far I am the only one doing anything. Need a little help. Otherwise I guess I will do all the parts. Wait.....I already do Laughing . I wonder if this is how I got where I am? Think Think Think

All that is left for us is the composing and feedback…

I propose a compromise.

I will ride your rhythms and beats.

I will NOT ride your buns.

Homey don’t play dat (and my wife will get jealous).

Bring on the beats! Bring on the tunes!

The charts are ours for the taking!

All that is left for us is the composing and feedback…

Sam, just wanted to let you know that I'm one who downloaded the file. I still haven't started anything but it sure is my intention.
I'll let you know when I have something.
Hope this helps to cool anxieties.
Cool
