| I've found myself getting slightly interested in the posibility of guitar synths or some MIDI- interface via guitar. basically, hoping to get strings/ or piano or a vast myriad of different sounds to use- but getting them either from a guitar, a guitar hooked up to SOMETHING (this could be a synth, a box/effect, or just about anything)- this is all very much new to me and still in the "ideas" stages.. can anybody tell me anything about guitar synths or guitar-MIDI? The basics- what's cool- what's not..what to look for ?? -I already have wahs and filters in my Digitech unit that I can mess with to get a MOOG/soft synth type of sound (not the greatest sound- unless I want to play Frampton tunes all night- not very versatile) I'm hoping for information on the next step to take that will open my mind to new sonic possibilities. Any help, direction or information is TOTALLY APPRECIATED! Thanks! -Greg |

Hmmm... interesting..looking over the Godin stuff..never tried one but I hear that they are awesome guitars!
Also looking over the Roland site at the GR-20 unit..looks like I could slap the "stick-on pickup" on practically any guitar and the unit itself looks like a floor-processor-multi-effects pedal. Looks like it would be easy to figure out.. I just wonder if there's some way to have the unit play one thing and then I can solo over it.. who knows what technology has in store!
thanks for the info- I'll keep looking! |
