| Are there any fans of Johnny Cash out there? If so, do you guys remember the cd he made from his performance at the Folsom County prison? Well, Everlast's single for "Radio" is suppose to be a cover for that! What do you guys think about that? Think it will be good? Could he be the next "Johnny Cash"? |

| Why do people say that? And why do artist insist of trying to be "the next so and so" or "the new so and so". Let legends be legends. I heard his new song and I think he's got a great voice and could possibly pull it off, but he won't be the next Johnny cash. And didn't he write a song for Snoop dogg too or something? |

Well, I think it's pretty cool that he is bringing back an old legend. Yea - he won't sound exactly like him or won't "be the next Johnny Cash", but I don't think that's what he's really trying to do....he's just trying to bring back his songs and maybe get today's generation to appreciate him again. |

| Yeah, but that isn't what they are saying here I don't think. Not talking Cash impersonator, but replacement and in "the next" so as to say that someone will create the same history. Create your own, that's what I say. There is no next anybody. DNA proves that we are all unique. |

Saw some mexican kid in Seattle they are touting as the next Johnny Cash. Calling him Juanee Cash. I guess it sells records, still seems a little lame to me though. I guess I am a purest. I think the mold gets broken at the Pearly Gates and we will never see another Johnny or Frankie, etc. These come to us as unique souls. They deliver the "message" and move on. Anything else is just marketing hype, I think. I am all about marketing, so maybe I am putting my foot in my mouth here, and I guess I would use it if the occasion warranted. But I would know it was BS and I was using it to sell records.
Just be yourself. Too many Elvis impersonators already. I couldn't see living my life as an impostor. |

Very unorigional, at least Johnny Cash had a legitimate reason to record that album, Everlast is just trying to bite off of the Cash man |

| There is no next Johnny Cash. Forget about it. They broke the mold and for some people who knew him in his early years it may have been a good thing. Now he is gone and he took himself with him. Just remember... You're next! You get a turn to die too. You want to be known as the "Next" anybody when you go? Join a tribute band... Yeah, that's it. Be the Next Elvis. |
