Holy cow this post fell by the wayside......

Well for those who participated and those who would like still to add to it I have moved the banner page from that junk quotaless ad filled horse pucky site and am in the process of redesigning my 110mb page.

I am still in the construction phase as I am trying to learn some new html tricks and stuff but the artist links are no longer going to be on a hidden page. They are included on the home page right under a player and a bio for me and anything else I may add to it but they will be on the first page now instead of a hidden page that you have to navigate to.

I am also trying to get away from all that flash stuff I was doing as I noticed it slowed the load time down on the website and we cant have that for those folks who are on dial up and mobile devices. So for the bio's that were under the banners I have not figured out how to include them to where they are not so small they kill your eyes to read them.

If anyone has any tips or trick to offer to my learning process here feel free to post them here as well as if you do not already have a banner and would like one on the site, post that here also with a link to whatever MUSIC site of YOURS you would like it linked to.

I noticed that there are a couple of banner links that either do not exist anymore or do not link to a site and I will figure out who they belong to and maybe can get them linking back to a good page.

Also I am currently trying to figure out how I can include Podcasts in my site. Trouble is that I can not upload any media files but I can stream them off of other sites and I am trying to figure out how I can do that. I have a pretty good idea as to how I can but not a 100% on it yet. I think it would be cool to include maybe a podcast page or even a link to 1 song from the artist whose banner it is. These are just ideas I have but have not figured out yet. Like I said I am trying to learn some new tricks and stuff. That php and scripting stuff gives me a headache when i try to read it(hehe).

I will save that text for inclusion when I figure out how I am going to do it. Silly me I forgot to post the new site link in my post. The site it's going to be on is at http://www.chinsane.110mb.com . I will be deleting that old page as soon as I get it all figured out in my new design. That page hijacks browsers and has waaay too many ads on it and is not good. Got unlimited space but very limited on what content you can upload and stuff. But I'll get that changed for ya.

Another lil tid bit I was thinking of adding to this site would be under each banner instead of having a review ( I am trying to get away from all that flash stuff.....for folks with older machines and whatnot it takes too long for it all to load) I would possibly include the 30 sec player from the respective artists site here on the Forte. I think this would be a cool idea but am not sure if this would still have the issue of long loading times. But for those who have sites here and would like to have their preview players from their pages under their banners, post a reply with your player code ( or PM me if you do not want your code in here) and I will get it on the site. The Auto-Play must be set to off. If it is not I will either change it or not include it at all. Not to be mean but it would suck if 10 players all were playing at the same time. Would deter traffic vs. attract.

Like I said tho, I believe the Wimpy player is a flash app so I am not sure if this would still have the crazy load time, but who know. Couldn't hurt to see. I think it would be cool to have the player under the banner for a sample of the tunes and then maybe a small 2 or 3 line bio thing somewhere also.

This site is a new thing to speak just for the music. It will headline/feature myself but I want to include everyone who wants to in it. No more hunting for the page with the links. They are/will be on the main as well as mine. Unless I get so many it requires multiple pages ( then I may have to bear the headache and actually buckle down and learn PHP or something.....grrr...hehe). But as it is now, I only have a handfull of participants so it is not an issue.

For those who don't have MF sites, well, I am not sure how it could be done. It would kinda look off but I know of free players out there that will stream a song, but you would already have to have it hosted somewhere else as I can not host actual songs on this site. Won't allow me to upload any audio/video files so.....

Let me know if you would like to do this. I am online (not here but everywhere in the world) 75% of the time so I can get this done rather quickly. I may wait till the first 4 or 5 come before I add them as it would be a pain in the @#$ to do it one at a time.

Send me you player code from your site and I will add it under your banner and we will see just how cool (or un-cool) this idea is.

Go ahead and check it out....might need to refresh the page....And make sure your volume is not way up as my player auto plays......But your player is up there....might be a cool idea......If can get more in on it.
