Okay, so Bob Dylan is more my style than any electronica business, but I have to come here to share the experience I just had. I feel...hhhmmmm...charged??? Magnetically renaissanced??? Not sure what the feeling is, but I'm somewhat giddy. When I first came to this site (about a month ago), I clicked on a couple of electronic-based "songs" but - come on, it's just kind of noise, ya know? But tonight I came in from work, looking forward to getting oh so mel-low and oh no. I clicked on Reconsiderate. And I stayed. And stayed. And stayed. And stayed some more...until I had heard it all. I mean, I went through every single song, and I am absolutely blown away here. This is genius!!! Because of the electronica going on, I really had to lean in, get fixated, REALLY LISTEN. We don't do enough of that, do we? Really listen. Maybe we would all learn something............................or, maybe we don't REALLY want to learn anything at all.
Thanks for the experience. It has been a very good night.
Sleep tight.

Years ago, when I didn't like something, I was always quick to voice my opinion on it. Then later, if I changed my mind about it, I'd feel like a wishy-washy idiot. So nowadays, I keep my mouth closed alot (especially at work) because there is so much about life in general that I do not like at the moment. But when something comes along that touches me in a positive way, I tend to gush....guess it's from holding it all in for so long. It's like, Ah, Finally! Something that feels good. And then, I want to pass it along, in the hopes that I can turn someone else onto something good.
I wish that people were more open-minded about trying out different genres. Electronica has never really been my thing, generally speaking; however, back when electronica was still new, I enjoyed all of that stuff. It has definately become ever more technological over the years. And, here again, let's take Rap, for instance. Generally speaking, it's not my thing; however, I have actually shed tears while listening to some of Tupac's or Snoop Dog's lyrics. What it comes down to is, when someone has something to say, we should be willing to listen - even if they are saying it in a way in which we are unaccustomed. It's definately worth it. |
