|
|
Hey, I am looking into getting a new/good mic for vocals. I've read some great reviews about the AKG perception 200. I am looking for advice from anyone who has any experience using one of these. Or, if there is another large diaphragm mic in about the same price point ($150-$200) that you would suggest. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

| The AudioTechnica 5050 is a very solid microphone at a very decent price. a little higher than what you were going for, but definitely worth it. look into that one man. |

| Do you bother to look at the posting dates on things or do you just talk to yourself? That thread was posted in 2006 man. |

| Damn! I guess it's a little of both, dude! (...and the nominees for the bonehead of the year are...) I guess I took for granted that it was a new post when I saw it in the little sidebar to the left of my screen. Damn, from 2006...seems like it would have had more posts than that if it was up that long. I notice that not many people bother to reply to a lot of these posts. Do they indulge in "any" activity on this site, or am I "really" talking to myself? |

| At the moment? Talking to yourself. Sad but true. This site has the potential to be great, but the majority of leechers and freeloaders makes it a lonely ghost town. It's the Indie way. They support nothing and suck everything dry and move on to the next host. Like the parasites they are. |

Which brings to mind, I saw a couple of your posts regarding to the indie scene which I thought were right on time. (I used that term at the risk of sounding dated). Anyway, you were mentioning about how we as indie musicians should really come together. I thought that was a cool thought. It's amazing how easily people come together to do dirt, but when it comes to uniting for a cause that would eventually benefit all involved, nobody's interested. They get what I call "crabs in a basket" syndrome. They don't want to do what's necessary for all to move up, and they don't want anyone else to be a part of something like that. But when the jig is up and all works out just like you said it would, here they all come, wanting to get a piece of it. This is exactly why I'm a solo artist.
Anyway, thanks for the look out, and the laugh, because I had a good one from the first response you posted about my late post. Stay in touch, dude. I'l like to hear from you from time to time.

Damn... Couldn't have said it better myself.
Indie artists have no balls. There are a few with the pioneering spirit, but the majority are seeking a free ride, which they are not going to get. If you read my story called "Let Me Tell You A Little Story" which most of these people probably scoff at, it tells a tale that is a current in today's supposed "revolution" as it was in my early years and I am vintage 60-70-80's.
I have known Greg since about , what was Greg? 2004ish? Oh well... And there was a window of opportunity that is closing more every day. These Twitterheads don't want to admit that there is no way they will ever accomplish any real revenue or residual income clicking a mouse and website hopping.
But you can't MAKE people want what is good for them or reality. It is like getting a kid to eat spinach or something. Damn good for 'em, but they refuse to eat it. I laugh my a** off every time some clown comes on here bragging about his supposed bigtime sales revenue on whatever mumbo jumbo site they flopping their garbage recordings on for the moment, because when I challenge them to show us the money I get the same response and total resistance. I love it! I live for it! Know why? I get paid no matter what you people do...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! So why should I care?
Because that is my mission. Yup. I was told to do it. I am not gonna tell you who or what told me, just take my word for it.
It will happen. But not to the majority of people that come here and leech and freeload. Not interested in parasites myself. |

| Well said. I, myself, after deciding to go my "own way", have been quite a bit more successful. Like you, I don't care to get into just how much more successful I've become, but suffice it to say that I no longer have a "day job", unless you count making music, because that's what I do "all day". I wouldn't tell anyone it's been easy, but it's easy "now". |
