HI folks,
Im poised on the edge of releasing a few 7 inches thru an independent label we've setup down here in Australia. I want to also make the releases available as digital downloads to those who have tossed their record players.
I wonder if someone here could tell me the absolute best people to use for digital distribution? I have inquired with the australian branch of the Orchard (amphead) who claim to be the biggest distributor of online music, but they charge an upfront fee of $250 & then $55 for every release thereafter to use them.. they also take 30% of the sale price..
anyone got a good way to get the music onto as many digital retailers sites without paying this craziness?
thanks
dog
PS please make the reply real simple as i aint to fancy with the digital world.

OK so tunecore charges for services as well.. but they seem to deliver to some of the big names.. I'm assuming that when you say I should upload tracks to music forte it means they only stay on the music forte site.. (not a digital distribution agreement like with tunecore)
Any other places I can check out?
