If you are looking to get play on regular FM Radio, it won't happen. If, and not necessarily then even, you are signed to a major label, you might, I repeat, might, get airplay.

It is a "Pay to play" game now, has been for awhile. Most of the regular radio stations are owned by Clear Channel, and they are definitely hooked up with the record industry. That's why you keep hearing the same songs over and over.

We are setting up to attach ourselves to some college radio, and later sattelite, but we need the artists signed to our new label coming out here soon. That is what it's all about.

I'll get you the hook up next week on my radio show. It gets podcast to thousands of people plus gets heard here. You can check it out by clicking on that graphic on the front page. Check out the format and mabye we can get you on the air in a couple of weeks. Sound cool?

We do have some AM radio partners that have agreed to do interviews and radio play of your music for a nominal fee. In particular, I'm thinking of a Seattle station (KLAY).

I'm sure that we have plenty of FM stations that are on board too, but they haven't stepped up to the plate with an offer.

also, try getting linked up with NPR. www.npr.org they have a listing of public radio stations in your area. you may have a chance of getting your material on there if its solid. make sure your work is quality, from the press kit to sound of the cd. they dont care what the cd looks like, just make sure it sounds professional.
when i released my debut album back in march06, i had my publicist to get a radio dj to host my release party and the rest is history. they play my album on radio all the time and i also went in to do several interviews as well, did some give-aways, etc. now, i have a solid working relationship with the radio dj and we keep in touch alot.
its all about NETWORKING when ur an indie artist.

I have my own Music Production Company and having the problem. If you don't know anyone or know someone that knows someone, then it's not going to happen. I have a few great Hip Hop Artists that I've produced out of my own studio and can't get radio play. What can I do?
