I've been a Halenhead forever now.. I started listening to them when I was really young since my parents loved them so much. Even though I enjoy some of the newer stuff, I still like the David Lee Roth-era music the most.
I came across this the other day, other Van Halen fans might be interested in it:

From blabbermouth.net
Original VAN HALEN frontman David Lee Roth is featured on three tracks on "Strummin' with the Devil: The Southern Side of Van Halen", a collection of VAN HALEN songs done in bluegrass style that will be released on June 6. Roth joins the JOHN JORGENSON BLUEGRASS BAND for twangy renditions of "Jump" and "Jamie's Cryin'", as well as a special radio edit of the latter.
The album also features DAVID GRISMAN AND SONS, BLUE HIGHWAY, MOUNTAIN HEART, IRON HORSE, and others offering new interpretations of such VAN HALEN favorites as "Runnin' With The Devil", "Hot For Teacher", "Panama", "Eruption", "Ice Cream Man", "Dance The Night Away", and "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love".
You can now listen to the CD "Strummin' with the Devil: The Southern Side of Van Halen" in streaming media on CMT.com's "Hear Music Now" web site.
In the liner notes, the Indiana-born Roth explains that "my roots were always kind of country — not the same country as my first band. Their flag had windmills. Mine had BBQ pit and a shot glass."

I listened to some of the tracks off the CD and it's pretty fun to listen to. I especially like Jamie's Cryin' and I'll Wait. |

Yeah i'm a big Van Heln fan as well. my parent's weren't into them, so i had no idea who the band or the members were until I gotten out of high school less than 5 years ago. I had heard some of their songs on the radio, but had no idea it was Van Halen, especially "Jump." Now I just love that song, and it makes total sense for them to do that song.
