I guess this comes under Radio Promotion. If I'm in the wrong place let me know. Perhaps we could start a new topic of Podcasting, cause there is so much to know and share.

I registered with Podshow and loaded a few songs up there and so far one of them has been picked up. They played Greenhouse on Bald Guy Show. That's my second Podcast now, the first being on www.killerinnovations.com who played Telephone Card.

You can see my page at http://music.podshow.com/music/listeners/artistdetails.php?BandHash=9bae67076af56a558a6e95022533c3c2

I did a rave about being on top of the Country Music Top 20 at MF.

It seems that a lot of podcasters are worried about playing music that isn't Podsafe, i.e. protected by copyright, so this site was set up for podcasters to find music that they won't get in trouble for playing.

A lot of people are still unsure of the implications of Podcasting in regard to paying royalties. I am a member of APRA which is the royalty collection (and other things) agency for Australia and New Zealand and they are still trying to understand what a podcast is. An issue is that many podcasts are now serving advertising and are really becoming bona fide radio stations, you just choose what and when you want to listen. I have lots more questions about podcasting, so maybe the fine MF people can have a look at whether it justifies another segment or fits here. I'll temper my enthusiasm for the moment. Cool

Definitely BluesBro. Obviously you and I would benefit from an in-depth discussion involving those who are very knowledgable regarding Podcasts, and I think a lot of other people would benefit as well. People who post and people who just read.

(Good idea, by the way.)

Blues, have you checked out the Music Forte Podcast yet? I also own the Long Island Podcast Network and can include yours if you want. Go to http://www.lipodcastnetwork.com and check out my 19 show podcast site. We have well over 100 shows already.

We can definitely benefit from a podcast section. I also use the podsafe music network, but on my podcast site, I have already had 700 local musicians fill out the terms and conditions to make thei rmusic exclusively podsafe.

If you would like me podcast your music here on ForteCast, let me know.

Bruce

Hey Bruce

That sounds great. My main interest is getting mu music onto other people's podcasts. My forte or raison d'etre is to get other people peforming my songs.

I got the impression that the ForteCast would just put music out with no talk, preamble, explanation etc. If that's the case, I'm not sure what help that would be for me. If you can help me get my music on other people's podcasts, that would be awesome!

At some stage I would like to do my own podcast, but I don't know wnything about the software required, formats, how to put them together etc. I would love to have my own podcast blog where I could have my music, talk about the songs and share music ideas etc. I don't know where to start.

I do have a home recording unit, so recording audio is no problem. It's what to do next. Cool

Hey! I'm happy too about how quickly this picked up. Hey Bruce, maybe it's time we used skype or similar and got some good interviews in.

I'm calling you tomorrow. We've got something good going here for everyone! Smile

hey Bluebro, I also talk about the music as well. When Greg and I did the Women of Music Forte, we really reviewed the artists and gave our opinion of them.

The software for the podcasting basically requires a good hard disk recording software like Sonar or Cakewalk.

Hey Greg...I guess the interview/podcast I was supposed to do with Aaron has long been forgotten...I had downloaded Skype (per his request) but I just got a new computer, so I'll check out Gizmo if you're still interested in doing this thing with me...thanks

thewolf13, I could interview you since I replaced Aaron on the podcasts. Maybe Greg and I can do the interview together.

To Greg and thewolf13, let's stick with Skype afterall, since the sound quality is much better than on Gizmo.

Bruce

Sorry, I had not seen this post.

Mine is music_forte. I've already added you. I just installed skype. I had gizmo, and even pre-paid some minutes d'oh! But you're right, quality is more important.

I will call you soon, so we can get started.
