Last night I had to go to a long meeting for work that took an hour to get to and on the way back I really needed some tunes to keep me awake.

I put it my old Dandy Warhols CD "Bohemian Like You" and wholly shiznit they rock!!!

I love re-discovering bands that I've always loved but haven't listened to in a long time.

You may remember the Dandy Warhols for such hits as, "Bohemian Like You" and "I Never Thought You Were a Junkie Because Herion is So Passe" Very Happy

I'm really getting into Hardcore, speedcore to be exact, and I am now really into Disciples of Annihalation (sp?). I also like DJ Sharpnel a lot. Hardcore rocks!

Last night I couldn't sleep cause I was thinking about too much shtuff, so I decided to dig up a blast from my musical past: Nick Drake

His album Pink Moon is an amazing work. It's just him and his guitar, but he used the most interesting time signatures and tuned his guitar differently for almost every song. His lyrics are so simple and yet moving and touching... ahhh... just good. He's just good.

He's a little sad and I know his existence was like that of so many other beautiful artists -- depressed.

He no longer lives nor produces music, but I highely recommend him to anyone who's looking for something very different from what's out there or for something simple but emotionally probing.

Nick Drake -- Pink Moon. Love

I'm digging Youth Group's album "Skeleton Jar" these days. It's nothing world-shattering; however, each and every song is excellent. At first listen I only enjoyed one or two songs, but I found that somehow another song would get caught in my head and draw me back to the CD, and over time I loved the entire record. You who haven't already heard it should really give it a try. Secret Machines are also really good. I can't declare I'm a fan as of yet, but I have loved every one of the six songs I've heard by them. They are "Lightning Blue Eyes", "Nowhere Again", "Alone Jealous & Stoned", "All At Once (It's Not Important)", "The Road Leads Where It's Lead", and "Sad And Lonely".

Dude! I was just listening to them yesterday and thinking to myself, "Man, these guys rock. Where have they been all my life?" And also thinking I should mention them on this very thread! That's it, it's fate -- listen to the Flaming Lips and set your mouth on fire!

Yipeee! Very Happy

Yesh! I agree with you! Well not on the having his babies thing, I don't think my boyfriend would approve of that, but his stuff is great, and it's all available for down load on his website!

What a swell guy! Very Happy

Modern country gets a bad rap at times, but there are some great artists on some of the big labels, these days Billy Currington and Dierks Bentley are two guys to check out in my opinion. The are both great writers, singers, performers and instrumentalists

I've heard of them, but not too much of their music. But one band I'm currently digging is Deep Purple. One song that was stuck in my head is a rendition of their "Smoke On The Water." I heard it from watching a Napstergirl clip recently.

www.napstergirl.com

I love how the new version of the song fits in really well with Napstergirl's dancing. Also the way she gives the money to the guys is hot! Now I'll have the new version of "Smoke On The Water" stuck in my head because of this clip. Does anyone know which band/artist redid this song?
