My band and I are trying to book a tour through jazz clubs/festivals in Netherlands, Germany, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, & potentially Turkey and are facing challenges in how to do this. We have a couple of commitments now in Bratislava and Budapest but really need more, this is for August of 2006. I am “flying blind” of how to do this, since I have found no real booking agent to help here. My booking agents in California can’t do this. I have been contacting clubs directly via email but get a lot of returned “undeliverable” emails. Can anyone help us get into some of the jazz clubs in Central-Eastern Europe? My band was given “Critic’s Choice in the Union-Tribune, and we are recording an album with legendary jazz guitarist Peter Sprague now. We are a legit jazz band with vocalist and gig regularly in California.
For more info on my band or to listen online, go to www.tokeli.com
Thank you. |

Hey Tokeli,
You sent me a message a while ago, and I haven't heard from you recently. How's your music going?

Well let's just fix that problem and put out a SOS for your band! Give us a couple of days and we'll add your announcement in our next newsletter. I will try to also add to other music newsletters as well kk |

Well, I don't know if I can excuse myself with the fact that I've been EXTREMELY busy or just technically unsaavy, although both are true, but I apologize for never responding to these beautiful responses. The tour didn't happen. We'll be in NY in Jan. 07 for 5 days for IAJE Conference. But other than that, no real tours. I went to SF to look for bookings but didn't get much action. I work locally like crazy and have a wait list as a teach, very full schedule, so my networking skills haven't been exercised. I really need to get back on the ball. Frankly, I still really want to make this happen someday. But I suppose I still do'nt know how to go about it. My agents have been NO help at all, but that's nothing new. Have a good show, everyone. Keep in touch!@ |
