I haven't been around much l8ly but I need some help with something; I Have a basic knowledge of the guitar, but what are some good things I can do to improve my voice (for some good ol' acoustic recording).

Hi Joshua,

I wasn't sure if your were talking about your real voice, or the recorded version.

Assuming that you mix your voice on a seperate track, you should be able to add effects or adjust the eq to get a sound you like.

As for your "real" voice, maybe one of the singers on the site can offer tips. I'd say experiment with the amount of breath that goes into your singing just to explore the possibilites of your voice.

Easy! Voice lessons: You will simply become a better singer.

(The trick is finding a teacher who is FUN!) This makes all the difference in

the world.

EQ (less Bass): This will simultaneously make your lyrics atand out as well

as make them more understandable.

A very slight reverb: (Suit to taste) Furthermore, your cables, your mic,

your recording gear (tape, MP3, Pro Tools, and so on -they all have a

'distinct sound or sounds'. The trick is to find what suits you.
