One of the gerat things about today's technology is the ability to collaborate at a distance without losing quality as we did years ago when we used to try with audio tape.
Charly Nice has added some awesome sax to my new song You Oughta Run and you can hear it on my page. Thanks heaps Charly! This is one of the great things at MF that I couldn't do anywhere else. Meet great musicians on a web space in opposite sides of the world and make music together from the comfort of my home studio. |

I put up a post a week or so ago about collaborating but have not gotten response. Guess everyone's busy or without need at the moment.
Here's a suggestion for the mods if anyone wants to check it out. About every couple months I work with a group based in Canada with members from around the world who collaborate and make online CDs merely for the pleasure of interacting with others and making new sounds. Each project is usually gove about 2 weeks to complete from start to finish. The page is here for anyone interested in checking out the music (free for the taking):

A schedule is set by the number of members participating in any given project with each member contributing a different track for each separate 'album' song. For instance, track 1 is usually a rhythm track or percussion. The bpm is set by the first track. Then each person layers in one track as the previous tracks are completed. Everybody must wait for the previous track to be completed before doing their additions to the cut. Usually the pieces are limited to five tracks with the participants given a schedule of which track on which cut they are responsible for.
Anyway, you sort of get the idea. Would be interesting for MF to maybe set up something similar for those wanting to participate, but then there'd have to be a server somewhere where the tracks could reside until completion with limited access (upload and download only - no delete privileges) and people to do the final mixes. Then you'd have to have a page at MF to offer the finished product to the listeners.
Oh well, maybe not such a good idea after all, but at least I got to share the idea.
BTW - I have a couple new cuts I just uploaded - White Tiger and Talkin' Trash if anyone would care to give a listen.
