Well, they recently played in London so you never know what they might do. Other bands have done it. Kiss, Iron Maiden, The Eagles (I would love to see The Pink Floyd do it too). Just think of the money they could get form a full blown "reunion" world tour. UGH! I would absolutley see that show!

Then if you decide you need those CD things, that is a whole other bag. You need a pressing plant, cover design, insert copy info, bar codes, and a place to distribute them to, which takes you back to marketing again. Oh, and postage, don't forget the shipping costs there.

Then when that's all done you can start on the new album.

Then the band gets signed by a major label and tells you to kiss off. Then you commit suicide because you are so depressed over your failure to keep the band you are managing. You lost your house, car, significant other, and the dog growls at you when you come home, if you are lucky enough to still have a dog.

You can get studio time as low as $25.00 an hour on up to the sky is the limit. May as well go cheap though, you are gonna need plenty of money to buy booze, drugs, sex and antibiotics for the clap your misfit band is bound to catch. Save some for the hotel rooms they trash too, insurance never covers that one. And if they are all women... Whole different set of rules there. I need more time for that one.

I had a listen and generally speaking there is a lot of potential here but its all depressing. (I guess thats the point)
You have to work on mastering, and when working with a band the music needs to be tighter.
You may consider muting tracks then binging them back and using different effects just for a bit of verity in a song. Try using dub techniques. After listening to all of the tracks that piano was just getting on my nerves.

Just checked Labyrinth, love the tone you get on the guitar. How did you record it? The mix is decent enough, lyrics are clear and the instruments can be picked out individually despite it being a bit muddy at times. Overal good job, thumbs up! Will check out the rest when I have some more time. Keep up the good work!

I'm a drummer about to record with a new band.

The music to be recorded requires stick and brush playing. I've done several recordings before for rock bands using 1 overhead condenser mic (akg c1000 i think), 1 sm57 on the kick drum and 1 sm57 for the two toms, 1 on the floor tom and one sm57 to milk both hi-hat and snare.

However, I'm not sure if this is an adequate setup or if there's a better way. I've also never recorded brushes.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

IF you liked stomp a smurf, go to my myspace page and go to my friend list and click on DC South (#3 on list). And look for the song "Do ya figure 8". He took stomp a smurf and put a rap/r&b song on top of it about doin X. Its pretty good. Check it out. Hopefully ill have some stuff with both of us up soon.
