Flickr, Technorati, Del.ico.us, and many others have all introduced a method of tagging at their websites.  They’ve all had phenomenal success with this technique.  Now, it is available at Music Forte.  Although we may be a little behind on the development and timing of this introduction, there is still a lot of potential to be explored.  The tagging at Music Forte will continue to be developed to help better navigate our visitors both on-site and off-site.

Tagging can be used by anyone to help  visitors find you.  Unlike the game we might have played as kids, you can tag yourself at Music Forte. The concept of tagging is very simple.  Keywords are suggested that help summarize a page.  Off-site, this helps focus search engines to navigate towards your page. On-site, it plays a similar role; but instead all the tags are grouped into one master page.  The most popular tags stand out in larger font and color.  As tagging is updated on a continuous basis, it becomes easy to see what content is most popular for the minute, hour, day, week, or any time.

If your page is tagged often, and is one of the more prominent tags throughout the site, your profile will be presented with similar pages that share the same tag.  All this information is dynamically populated and updated to serve as a strong source of navigation for visitors.
