Anthillは90年代のブリティッシュポップ、パワーポップ、ウィルコエスケアルトカントリーの影響を受けた雑多なバンドです。
Anthillは1998年に結成され、その同じ年にファーストアルバムをリリースしました。ファーストシングルは "Child of Ambition"というタイトルのヘビーロックです。カナダのいくつかのロックラジオ局で曲が流されました。その後、更なる変化とナーバスブレイクダウンを経験し、Anthillはよりポップ傾向の強いバンドとなりました。2004年にリリースされた "Ascending"は喝采の評価を受け、バンドにとってターニングポイントとなったアルバムです。（バンクーバーサン紙によるk評価： ”スマートかつ完璧なアルバム。5段階評価中4.5”）
コンサート活動の1年後、Anthillはレコードスタジオに戻り、3枚目となる"Waiting For the Sun"のアルバム作りに取り組みました。このアルバムは自己の内面をうたったポップャ塔Oで、また例えると、Steve EarleがThe Policeのバンドでパフォーマンスしている感じのアルバムです。
2006年2月、Anthillはthe Southern California Music Awardsでベストインターナショナルバンドに選ばれました。"Pastel Rain"という曲は審査員によって名誉あるトップャ塔Oと評価されましたが、 Anthillが南カリフォルニア出身ではないという理由で選考基準から外れました。その後、 "We Are Listening" 2005 Singer Songwriter Awardsで "Avenue"という曲が入賞しました。また最近 Anthillが4月27日、Limerick Junction で2006 New Music West showcaseというショーでパフォーマンスすることが発浮ｳれました。
"Waiting For the Sun"のオフィシャルアルバムリリースが嵐閧ｳれており、バンクーバーの The Media Clubで2006年6月８日行われる嵐閧ﾅす。権威あるカナダの音楽ジャーナリストによりCDは、A評価を受けました。Tｈe Vancouver Provinceのトム ハリャ唐ﾉよる評価： ”これらの曲のなかにごまかしの曲などないということに偽りの余地はない。この8曲の中にはつまらない曲などない。” |

Buy this album if you have more than a few brain cells... it'll be the best thing you did in a very long time because it's quite possibly one of the best albums your likely to hear outside of a major label's A&R department!
