Born Luch Eliot and later host to numerous nicknames -- "2LE grew up in the Cali Bay Area and aspired to follow in the footsteps of Too Short the Oakland legend. 2L built a street presence with the U.C CREW and STACK MAC,THE 5TH long before he released his first album. After years of tape hustling he decided to start his own label OFFICIAL FUNK RECORDS, and began extending his reach beyond the streets of Oakland the Bay Area city he called home. 2L entered the along with better-known rappers like TL and HEX BIG PLAYA. 2LE was one of several who helped put the Modesto Bay Area sound on the map in the late '90s as a hotspot in the rap game. He collaborated with many of the Modesto and Bay Area's best producers and rappers BIG PLAYA TL, HEAT LAB, and D.TOWN -- and helped define the scene's identity particularly with his album NIGGA U DONT KNOW ME (1999) which featured perhaps his best-known song "DEEPER." His career simmered out quickly however.HE was a geuss rapper on cd,s like T.L READY OR NOT, HEX, GAME ON TWIST.2LE returned in 2003 after a three-year absence and few listeners seemed to notice. 2LE was no longer the man he was at first and the Bay Area scene was no longer the hotspot it had been a few years earlier. Given his brief moment in the spotlight and his sudden decline it was perhaps no surprise when 2LE changed his style in 2003 incorporating a surprising amount of spirituality on his album 'BOSSES'.Do to money and lable bullshit this album is yet to be out. |
