Born in April, 1985, Nate starting studying drums at age 7. First with private teacher Arnold Fonseca, with a rock concentration and then at 10 moved to Middle Street School of Music in Plymouth MA working with a funk and contemporary drumming concentration. At 15 he stopped taking lessons when his drum teacher moved to Wisconsin. Throughout schooling he played the drums in the schools concert band. Once he hit high school he also played marching snare quints, and xylophone in Plymouth High School’s Marching Band’s Drumline. Also while in high school Nate found his voice. He was in the schools chorus and in the Men’s Choir singing High Tenor in both cases. Nate was in an a cappella group called The Guys for 3 years based out of Plymouth and again, sang high tenor. While in high school Nate was in a cover band called Void if Removed and in another called the Usual Suspects later both with Miller Drive’s very own bass player Nate Buckley. Nate joined up with Downey Buckley and Jayko in the fall of 2003 and couldn’t be happier with the band. His musical influences stem from all sorts of genres. Carter Buford Michael Travis, Kris Myers, David and John Garibaldi Don Henley, Gene Krupa, Travis Barker, and Dave Bisson are amongst the biggest influences. Coupled with Buckley’s endless bass styles and talent this rhythm section won’t be one that is in the background. Nate is currently at Westfield State College studying Criminal Justice and on his own is studying contemporary jazz, and two-tone drumming. Nate is at a loss of words to be a part of such a talented band; all of whom are extremely talented at what they do. |
