I have had many influences, over a long period of time. My initial influences were the Beatles, but then moved on to Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and any other singers that had that innovative lean to step outside the square, whilst still connected to the soul., |

Neale Johns (singer/songwriter) started performing at age 13 and started writing songs at age 14. Biggest break was as singer/songwriter of 70's Australian band Blackfeather. Blackfeather had two hits "Seasons of Change" and Boppin' the Blues". Both songs are considered Australian classics. Neale is still considered by his peers as one of the best voices in the country. Blackfeather are still performing and have just finished a live DVD/CD. Also Neale is completing a solo studio CD along with collaborative CD with Brenden Mason (guitarist /songwriter) ex Madder Lake on occasions they work together as the duo Johns and Mason. Brenden is also the present guitarist with Blackfeather. They have performed together in varying musical line-ups for over 20 years. Both have had hits in their previous bands. Neale is a prolific writer and his catalogue of material is increasing daily.
