I play keyboard, strictly by ear--no formal musical training. Being and older guy, I love and sorely miss the real music of the 40s, 50s and 60s, when melody and lyrics meant something and the beat was part of the songs, not the song itself. Today's "music" to me is mostly noise and a steady beat, little melody, nothing like the Berlin, Porter, etc. composers of the past. Am I an anachronism and out of date? Maybe, but I like it that way. From the "oldies" radio stations on the air today, there must be others like me. Where are you? Who are you?
