Biography
Dylanesque was formed in May 2000.
The band have played at quite a few of the UKs leading venues as the leading tribute to Bob Dylan and his music.Performances include topping the bill at Liverpool's Beatle week The Mathew Street Festival 2003 where a crowd estimated at more than 6000 watched the show. The day before this Michael the band leader, teamed up with the excellent George Harrison tribute band Hari Geogerson contributing to a re-enactment of the 1971 concert for Bangla Desh.
More shows with other artists appearing on the same bill earlier in that year included folk icon Carolyn Hester who's name is synomimous with Bob Dylans Greenwich Village roots.
Another Dylan festival saw Dylanesque in 2006 play on the same bill as Scarlet Rivera and Rob Stoner who both performed as part of the Joel Gilbert's US outfit Highway 61 revisited. The same year Dylanesque performed the soundtrack for the "After the crash Bob Dylan 1966-78" DVD released by Chrome Dreams/Isis.
Michael contributes to the Freewheeling magazine at the request of the editor John Stokes of which one article was requested by Bob's old adversary A.J.Weberman.
Dylanesque play their tribute to Bob Dylan in the knowledge and respect that HE has written some of the greatest songs of all time and congratulate him for the recent award of the Pulitzer Prize for "his profound impact on popular music and American culture marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power"

Thanks so much for reviewing Fox's original tune "Junkie's, Cheats, and Thieves". It's actually a true tale from about 13 years ago...the "house" is where we met and began this little duo of ours. Things have never been the same since. Thank God! Also want to praise your music again. I could listen to "Catfish" a jillion times a day. I really, really love that song. Thanks for your support.
Sincerely,
Ruthanna & Fox |
