Influences
|
I love such a variety of styles of music and singers that it's hard to say what truly influences me. I'm influenced by passion and heart. You can tell when an artist really believes and feels what they've written or performed. Some one who's captivating and has a lot of charisma. Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Babyface, Lionel Ritchie, Jon Bonjovi, Lisa Loeb, Alana Morisette, Ani Difranco, Christina Aguilera, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Jewel, Take 6, Phil Collins, Justin Timberlake, Aerosmith...See, I love them all...all artists have something to say and I think that's what it's all about!, |

Andrea Emmes was published by the time she was 18. Her 1994 poem "Lord Hear My Prayer" became her first recording, "Father".
She grew up in New England in a family of artists....poets, novelists, musicians, painters and feels blessed to follow them in her passions. She remembers, "I was an early reader, and when I was 4 yrs. old my favorite toy was a book." By the time she was 13, she had written 35 songs, in addition to painting, writing poetry, and singing.
From the time she graduated from high school, Andrea has sung professionally all over the United States, performing as a headliner on the Vegas strip, working as a studio singer on the west coast, even spending some time at Disneyworld performing as “Ariel, and Universal Studios singing as “The Bride of Frankenstein”.
Andrea has been compared to a “little tornado” (5’ on a good day), but in 2006 she was diagnosed with RSD, a pain disorder that causes her nerves to misfire and send a deluge of pain signals to the nerves. RSD has caused her to STOP, and slow down, to hear God clearly and listen to Him truly. “It’s been the worst and the best year of my life...really hard because of pain and insomnia, but amazing because I have been able to spend so much time with God.” Andrea now says, “Because of this challenge, my greatest dream is coming true, I have been able to use my gifts for God’s purpose”. Andrea feels that God’s purpose for her music is to be an example to everyone, lost or saved, about the choice we have to make EVERYDAY to put Him first.
Andrea’s prayer: “That the music moves you, inspires you, touches you, makes you think, smile or even cry, but above all…changes you.”
