I have been blessed to have sold several CDs in Japan and would like to increase that fan base by performing and networking with other independent acts while I'm in Japan during the month of November and throughout next year. As a multi lingual (French, Spanish, English) singer-songwriter I have been abundantly blessed with people vibing to my "neo soul with a touch of funk" music. As indie artist it was thrilling the first time I heard my song "I'm in Love Wit' You" on Larry Steele's Morning Show on WRXB in Florida and Carolyn Fox's Radio show on KHZ in Los Angeles and Philly. Since then I have been throughout the US, Europe and Japan doin' the dang thang and have met and performed with some amazing performers. There's some hot music coming out of London and they embraced this little chocolate chip cookie with much love. Delfter Krug in Bath, the Lewisham DRE and WEISA in South London, Ladies Night Out in West London--wicked!!. To be able to do what I must do is a blessing and a priviledge and because of the support of wonderful fans, (I call them Angelique Angels) mom and pop stores and radio stations I am able to do what I do full time. I LOVE performing live and would love to collaborate (live performances, studio recordings and songwriting) with veteran as well as up and coming acts so hit a sista up to collab and be sure to come to one of my shows when I come to your town and be sure to check the website (www.angeliquemusic.com) for updates!
Angélique’s star quality was evident at age four when she
made her musical debut during a class assembly in her
hometown of Alameda California. Angélique quickly
developed a taste for being in the spotlight and performed
solo in several church and school talent shows throughout her
school years. “I was such a diva-in-training,” she says with a grin. “I loved being the center of attention.”
As one can tell Angélique’s musical influences are varied; Bob Marley and Elton John discovered from her next door neighbors’ garage sale finds as well as her mother’s vintage R&B soul and jazz sister Denise’s Santana and Stevie Wonder daddy’s country and later Edith Piaf Josephine Baker and Julio Iglesias from her language studies.
Fully multi-lingual Angélique’s lyrics are sung in Spanish French, and English with emotionally charged songs that mesh well with her sensual voice and escort the listener into a thought provoking head boppin’, neo-soulful world.
As an independent artist Angélique achieved amazing success with her “neo soul with a touch of funk” music being embraced by thousands of fans and hundreds of radio stations.
Angélique’s warmth effervescent personality in addition to her electrifying performances translate so well on the stage that even skeptics have been known to boogie in their seats.
Furthermore Angélique’s international appeal and unparalleled musicianship make her one of the most exciting performers in the business. “I love performing and connecting with audiences,” says Angélique.
“Ever since I was a four year old diva-in-training.”
