Odd time signatures, an assemblage of both brutal and symphonic composition and a tithe of powerful singing and screaming make up the meat and potatoes of Arc of Descent's music. This poly-rhythmic quintet from Amityville New York features progressive heavy metal with influences like Dream Theater Rush, Killswitch Engage, Tool, and Meshuggah. Arc of Descent encompasses many genres of metal and beyond. With two lead 7 string guitarists Arc of Descent is sure to blow any hardcore or progressive metal head away. As Anthony from Burning the Memory wrote "This shit kicks ass. There's no other way of putting it."
TJ Muro on lead vocals screams dark powerful lyrics about soul searching and overcoming tragedy. Nick Minerva on lead guitar, picks his way to a creative new style encompassing Scandinavian influences while streaming classic guitar solos and adding a fresh spin on verses. Chris D'Auria on second lead guitar adds even more intricate detailing to this powerful quintet. With his unique style he creates both chugging riffs and solos which make the listeners head bob instinctively. Adam Woodfin on his Warwick 5 string has a wide variety of musical experience which allows him to shift effortlessly through a broad range of techniques and sounds. One thing is certain; Adam Woodfin is permanently bound to his bass. On drums Sergio Atanasio drives Arc of Descent with double kick drumming while conducting intricate patterns to animate the music. Also he and Nick are the founding members of Arc of Descent.
Formed in the fall of 2002 Arc of Descent performed for the first time in 2006 at the Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale NY. Since then, they have been gathering fans rapidly across the world and gaining attention from both regional and national promoters and venue owners. Arc Of Descent had the pleasure to play at the world famous CBGB's in New York shortly before their closing in 2006 which led them to CMJ's Music Marathon in 2006 as part of a panel discussing "From Glam to Death: Metal Sub-genre Feasts" which also included Trevor Phipps of UNEARTH and Freddy from the Taiwan based band Cthonic.
Currently, Arc of Descent is touring the northeast and are actively seeking new venues and reviews. Also they are writing and recording and in the future they look forward to gathering new fans endorsements and a major or large indie-label contract. If you would like to contact Arc of Descent or request a press kit please email ArcOfDescentMusic@gmail.com. They can also be located on MySpace at myspace.com/arcofdescent.

HAPPY HOLIDAY AND BEST WISHES FOR THE NEW YEAR!
’Dream as if you’ll live forever. Live as if you’ll die today.’
James Dean
 | ROBERT FARMER: 'IN A DREAM'
‘’In a Dream’ by Robert Farmer is an absolute must for any sensible person's CD collection, and for any aspiring musician and composer who'd like some hints at what's possible at the upper end of the excellence spectrum. Buy this album if you have more than a few brain cells... it'll be the best thing you did in a very long time because it's quite possibly one of the best albums your likely to hear outside of a major label's A&R department!
