Rebecca Gohn is a contemporary performing artist and singer-songwriter presenting thought-provoking lyrics captivating vocals, and lingering piano melodies. Her overall musical style is distinctly pop generating repeated comparisons to artists including Shawn Colvin Jewel, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlin, and Fiona Apple. Her background in classical music is evident in both her singing and piano playing and the blending of influences from the folk jazz and blues genres although much more subtle can be perceived upon a closer listen to her music. Rebecca performs solo accompanying herself on keyboard and guitar and charms her audience with a warm stage presence that reveals a true fondness for music. She performs a diverse blend of her own material folk songs and unique versions of popular tunes.
Her interest in music began at a young age with musical theatre and training in classical piano and voice. She started writing songs at the age of 12 drawing inspiration from artists such as Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. Rebecca has performed in numerous singing groups including Savoir Faire a PSU a cappella group the Penn State Concert Choir and she’s fronted jazz and pop/rock bands. She’s received first place awards in various singing competitions and she’s performed the national anthem for high school and college sporting events. Nowadays Rebecca can be found performing regularly at live music venues in the Delaware valley and surrounding areas.
Rebecca continues to refine her artistic abilities through composing new songs continued musical study and enhancing her repertoire. She has plans to go back into the studio to record a second album very soon.
