Based in Seattle, Chimestone draws on the best influences from both America and England...from The Stone Roses and The Smiths to The Killers and REM. You can hear elements of all those groups in the band's lush and driving songs but Chimestone has forged a signature sound all its own.
Chimestone's music is instantly engaging. Guitars bass and drums create textures and rhythms for the singer's ethereal and memorable voice. The music has a melodic layered quality, but remains rooted in one engaging song after another. Chimestone has shared the stage with many local Seattle greats at the legendary Off Ramp The RKCNDY, The Colourbox, and OK Hotel, as well as current clubs The Crocodile and local music festivals such as North By NorthWest.
Recorded at Seattle's legendary BAD ANIMALS Studio their 6-song CD "Just For Grins" has won widespread praise in print and online...
The "What's Happening" section of the Seattle Times called Chimestone one of the area's most promising up & coming bands.
Los Angeles Beat Electric calls Chimestone "Instantly memorable with an amazing live sound that tops their incredible debut recording."
NY Indie Voice says "Chimestone delivers in the tradition of the great American bands beautiful songs that are heartfelt and powerful at the same time."
