Percussionist Winston provides a vibrant and powerful performance which blends a fusion of compelling rhythms that are innovative and diverse. His palate includes an array of musical styles that merges Jazz R&B, Latin, Caribbean, Underground House Music, Trance, and Progressive into his unforgettable signature which he describes as “Cultural Fusion – the Vibration of Life.”
Born in Nuernberg Germany, Winston was first introduced to music through a family friend at the age of three. He recalls how he would watch his brother and sister would play the guitar and the piano as he would play the bongos. The experience led to many public performances for schools weddings, and other social events. Throughout the years he continued to demonstrate his commitment and desire for music. At the age of nine his childhood music mentor presented him with his first set of conga drums. His musical talent continued to flourish and led him to grass-root performances with local talents exploring venues such as Taste of DC Uni-Fest, and The Inaugural Marley Fest.
Renowned musician Robert Northern – founder of Brother Ah and the sounds of Awareness noticed Winston’s musical talent. Through his association with Brother Ah this led to new opportunities to perform with groups and legendary artists and bands such as The Union Temple Baptist Church Youth Urban Street Level, Black Lite, Jamerica and the late Percussionist Master Baba Engoma. For over three decades he has honed his skills as a musician and trendsetter. His talent has led to numerous musical collaborations with some of the world’s most influential music talents. When he is traveling his schedule is unparallel whether his is working as a solo artist or performing with local and national acts. His skills and innate talent have been sought after for years.
Winston can be seen playing throughout the Minneapolis St. Paul area at some of the hottest night spots in town such as The Fine Line Music Café Nochee, The Escape Ultra Lounge and The Lounge Night Club. Winston has had the honor of playing with a number of the nation's best DJ's including Chuck Love Big Mamma J, Dj Giancarlo, DJ Monna of 3Degrees Global. Jevney of 130 records and many others. Winston has established himself as one of the best percussionists in the nation and brings with him to the club a new sound style and energy. His percussion skills and performances are breath-taking and have clubbers begging for more. The era of nightclub percussion has begun.
