Influences
|
Influences? Well, I’ve been known to be heavily influenced by a good steak and beer and thoroughly convinced by cute blondes - but I like to listen to the Doobies, James Taylor, Kenny Loggins, The Eagles, Old TP but not the new stuff, some 80’s bands like The Knack, Pretenders, Haircut 100 as well as a lot of the newer country acts, OH and anything laid back and island style. Give me an afternoon of steel drums or strummed guitar anytime! What I play depends upon the song, the mood of it and what we’re trying to achieve. Since I’ve played everything from R&R, Funk, Jazz, and Classical through Country and Motown I draw on everything or anything depending on what I am doing. Drop me a note and tell me what you are doing. We might click and who knows, we might make music!, |

Sounds Like

Most of my songs that I am playing and recording these days sound like James Taylor if he grew up in the Caribbean on a sailboat messin’ with Jimmy Buffett or Gordan Lightfoot. Kenny Chesney has some songs that would fit in my set. My really old stuff is posted here for hoots, grins and giggles. I’ve got track after track that were almost done when Hurricane Wilma came through and eat my life. I’m going to get all my gear out of storage soon and then its just a tiny bit of time before the CD’s will come back from the press....... the art work is even done already! I’ve got 2 CD’s done and ready to press so stay tuned, it won’t be long. , |

Danny Taddei was born a traveler. He was born on ground hog’s day on Long Island New York, 1963, but was quickly swept away to live in Hong Kong. His father a businessman by trade is also an adventurer. Before Danny was out of grade school his father had taken him on an around-the-world adventure that circumnavigated the globe three times and visited more countries than can be remembered. With homeports anchored in sun splashed ports o’ call of The South China Sea The Bermuda Triangle and Polynesia it is no wonder that Danny grew up with stories to tell about living a buccaneers life on the tide of the coconut trail.
Danny learned to read music before he could read English and learned to sail a boat before he could ride a bicycle. As a kid that loved music more than candy it was not long before words were set to rhythm. His life is his songs his songs are his passion and his passions are for life and adventure in the tropics. His music is a compilation of his experiences – stories of hope love, life, rum and humor.
“The more you live the more you learn and the more you experience the more you have to share and reflect upon. You become more aware of what makes you smile and what you would change; if you could. Sometimes you think maybe you can! - SO as an artist and a songwriter you look for ways to see it and tell people about it sometimes to help yourself understand and sometimes to help someone else find their way. Either way an album of songs is like a group of dreams you have inside your head like a photo book of little videos that paint a moving picture each time you play them. They pour out on the canvas of time like colors and textures for a soundtrack to your life.
When I write songs they happen all at once. I’ve never really been the type of writer that sits down to intentionally write a song. Songs just happen. My life goes on and I experience things without thinking too much of them and then all of a sudden I find a place kind of a wrinkle in time where I sit down on a beach and in 30 seconds I have a 4 minute song in my head. It’s complete from front to back. That’s when I hope I have a pad of paper handy I can scribble it down. I write as fast as the pen can move jot the chords above the words and at some later point I play it on an instrument. I don’t know how it happens; they just come. I figure it’s my subconscious trying to make sense and peace between, what I know and what I wish. I try to make life as sweet as possible by enjoying the things you can take with you. I’ve never seen a hearse pulling a U-haul and like Christopher Columbus said ‘Riches never made a man richer only busier’. That’s what ‘I Play Guitar’ is about and the same goes for ‘Change Will Do You Good’. I guess that’s why I try to leave notes about each song I write so the listener can know where my mind was when I wrote the song”.
For Danny Taddei music has always been the current that runs through the veins of his soul in the changing tide tides of life. He’s been a touring act a studio producer and just as often a ship captain and a flight instructor. He lives on a sailboat when he’s not working and even sometimes when he is. You can’t help but hear the trade winds in his music.
The Question? ..... So who is Danny Taddei?
Well he’ll be the first one to tell you that you won’t find a new horizon without losing site of land. He’s a husband a father and buccaneer. He’s an explorer. He’s a sailor a pilot and a songwriter with sandy feet and a quest for freedom! Listening to his music will release your wanderlust feelings for the tropics. If you love Jimmy Buffet Gordon Lightfoot and James Taylor you’ll love Danny Taddei his philosophy and his Band of Pirates. Turn on the ceiling fan grab a cold one hop into a hammock and let your mind sail free with Danny Taddei. A Change Will Do You Good. |
