Influences
|
I shouldn't really use the word influences, because it's been a long time since I've written music. "Inspirations" would be Elton John, Billy Joel, Benny Green, Dan Fogelberg.... well I guess just about everyone I've ever seen in concert, and more.
Don't miss this!! It is incredible talent with an instrument you might not normally think much about
And out of the blue, I have to say Howard Levy. He's a harp player. But the thing about him is that he's taken the instrument to a level that I've never heard in my life. anyone that can master an instrument like that is inspirational. You've got to check out his playing skill. If you've ever tried playing harmonica, then hopefully you can appreciate how incredibly skillful he is.... Well even if you haven't...

A bit nasal. Sometimes lacking confidence. But on a good day, I'm 10x what you'd expect! :) It's all in the delivery., |

I still love playing the Jazz Standards. Benny Green was a big inspiration for me. He's not one of the old guys but I was able to meet him many times and that did a lot.
Billy Joel and Elton John will always be two of my favorites.

Nothing much these days. I'd rather sit at the piano.

I was born in Indianapolis IN. I moved around the midwest as a kid - living in Kentucky and Michigan, and then settling for a while in Naperville IL.
Went to college in Chicago at Columbia and majored in Jazz Piano. After that I went to Japan for a while... a long while. I didn't really anticipate on staying so long but what can I say? Time flies. I came back to the US 9 years later and now I'm right back in the place that I feel is my hometown Naperville, IL., |
