A child of the 60's NYC music scene Hasya jammed w/Hendrix when he was "Jimi James and the Blue Flames" --they shared
the same basement rehearsal space--his group "The Third Eye" was the house band for the Village Theatre and opened for lots of big acts of the time: Who Procul Harum, Left Banke, Allman Bros; What a gig that was! This venue was bought by Bill Graham to be the Fillmore East."He took a look at us and said 'House band? we don't need no steenkin house band' or something like that" Hasya was w/neighborhood contact Stevie Tolerico in the Chain Reaction for a few weeks which later became Aerosmith. Henry Krieger was a village pal and singer in the band he went on to write the broadway hit "Dreamgirls". Hasya
gigged w/visionary hand drummer Angus Macliesh who was percussionist w/Lou Reeds pre-Velvet's Warlocks. The Third Eye
was the pit band for an off-broadway musical "Conquerors of the Universe" starring Ondine, Taylor Meade, Ultra, and a bunch of Warhol's luminaries. The influx of music in that brief time-mid to late 60's-in NYC was majic for those in the midst of it. Before it all tightened up into 'music business' there were moments when the hippie avant pioneers and the young jazzers could
come together and blow and even collapse into giggle fits over it all. " I remember my best friend fellow guitarist Jesse West
saying' sure we can get into Sluggs' and we did! We jammed w/Pharoah Saunders Cecil Taylor was there.."
OK so the 70's change everything Hasya was extremely fortunate to travel w/the late Vaisnava saint Vishnu Jana Swami who
showed him how to play esraj and taught the ancient arts of Bhajana and Kirtan the devotional music of India with it's sanskrit
mantras and raga/tala methodology. In the 80's Hasya meets life partner Naradi and the Murari band takes off.Playing and recording now for two decades with bass/drum guru Benny Tillman Hasya & Naradi present their unique form of Folk toBlues toRock toBhajan and beyond.

Hi Hasya,
Haribol to ya. Your site is really coming together. Great to have you in the Music Forte family.
Your profile is seriously cool. Makes me feel like I was there during those amazing years in New York.
The tunes sound great and I cant wait until you get more stuff on the site for the world to hear.
