Jet Brennan is a Scots/Irish singer/songwriter and guitarist. Uncompromisingly plain and deceptively simple his songs re delivered in a stripped down style with a Celtic lilt.
He is a graduate of the School of Bars and Busking and has spent a good part of his musical life on the road. Born to an Irish family in Scotland's central belt Jet's earliest musical memories are of bands like the Clancy Brothers mingled with traditional Scottish airs and the sound of pipe bands.
Originally a drummer he first picked up a guitar at fifteen. Jet left Scotland in his late teens and settled in England where he played rhythm guitar in bands.
Later he discovered a knack for writing memorable tunes that people enjoyed and developed his own voice and material. In 1996 he won the UK Voice of the Year competition breaking with convention by singing his own song Easy Morning, rather than a cover version. The publicity led to appearances on BBC Radio's Folk on Two and local radio stations.
Over the past ten years Jet has performed mainly as a solo artist around the UK Ireland and France. He also likes to roadtest new material by doing the odd spot of busking! |
