Along with playing bass as the way I make a living I love writing songs. Currently the title song ‘I Like You’ placed as a Finalist in the Rock category of the Song of the Year contest Aug. 2007. http://www.songoftheyear.com/winners/2007/082007.htm
Also the Laurie Miller’s song ‘Have a Nice Day’ has received a lot of positive feedback. It has finished as a top 5 Finalist in the Pop category of the January 2007 Song of the Year contest and Honorable Mention in the March 2007 Song of the Year contest.
Laurie’s ‘Take My Hand’ song also featured on her ‘I Like You’ CD which features the guitar playing of Randy Hansen and the now deceased Beth on Viola placed in the top 5 as a Finalist in the Adult Contemporary June 2007 Song of the Year contest too.
As of October 2007 the ‘kids’ version of the song ‘Boring’ placed as
Honorable Mention Winner in the UNISONG 11 Annual (2006-2007) International Songwriting Contest.
Laurie Miller recently played the Power Box Fest at the White Horse Amphitheater in Darrington WA. It was a great festival featuring female fronted bands i.e. Vixen Iron Maidens, etc. and bands from all over the world.
A video for the ‘Just a Frog’ song now featured on Youtube - www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxsjav852qE and I shall be focusing on distributing my CDs getting more airplay, and booking a CD release party and marketing.

It has taken me a long time getting my music organized and out there. I know I’ve been a single mom musician and artist but who knows, personal demons to overcome may be the real reason it has taken so long. I hope you all enjoy listening and visiting.
