I play trumpet in a number of different bands as well as arrange for various ensembles - from funk to jazz big band to contemporary concert band and wind ensemble. But my primary interest is kickass horn-driven funk and blues ala James Brown Tower of Power and Roomful of Blues.

Great to hear from a fellow Canadian - though I find it funny that this American site lists Port Dover and Kincardine as "in the Ottawa area"!!! I actually did a show at the Upper Canada Playhouse last year, which IS near you!

Also I wanted to share a piece with you. I never got very far with Jazz, but when I read about your interest in Freddy Hubbard, I remembered a song that I recorded with a buddy of mine on guitar. I know Freddy Hubbard's version is widely appreciated - here is my amatuer version of Pensativa.
