Born In Washington State to a musical family Margie grew up singing in a band with her cousin saxaphone player Don Lanphere and her sister G.G. Koehler who played the piano. They were called the Melodeers. Her Uncle Beany Lanphere owned the music store in Wenachee and recorded the band regularly. Back then the recording went directly to disc. (Record in those days). These recordings range from 1940-47
In several Margie is 12 years old. A talent from a very young age. She went on with her career and Quincy Jones was in one of her bands when he was 15. Many famous people played behind her over the years. I will update this when I get the info.
