Influences
|
Tori Amos, George Winston are the major influences. The Beatles are a given! Carole King is another major influence, as well as my mother's gospel music and my grandmother's classical and church music collection. Karen Carpenter is the first female vocalist I remember singing along to. My dad says he remembers me singing along to AC/DC's "Highway to Hell". I like all kinds of music and draw on a lot of sources when I am creating. , |

People say they can definitely see the Tori and George in me, but they all agree I've got my own thing going on, especially vocally., |

Record Label
|
I've decided to start my own. I've called it Herbal Remedy Records. I have always been fascinated with herbal medicine and the "old wives", and old-fashioned things, hence the name. |

Mandee writes soothing piano tunes that are the perfect backdrop for her naturally lovely voice. On her self-produced debut "Seasonings", she sings of the cycles of love and friendship peppered with her introspective and sometimes wry lyrics. Stark arrangements blend her pastoral poetry and bittersweet melodies that recall the styles of George Winston Tori Amos and Carole King but take the listener on Mandee's own journey through the seasons of the year. Although self-labelled as "alternative easy listening" Seasonings explores genres from gentle ballads to ragtime fluff; from slow jazzy grooves to folky singer/songwriter; from a rousing harpsichord instrumental to a waltz.. and all with Mandee's own unique stamp.
