Professional? Well, I -have- been paid now and then sometimes even in cash. But for the most part music has been an avocation and a road not taken. I can't imagine what my life would have been like without making music and yet sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like if I'd made music my first priority. (Teaching and later, writing got the nod.)
I'm a paper-trained violist having studied with Helen Richards (Yorkship School) and Lyman Bodman (Michigan State University). I'm a self-taught guitarist (mostly rhythm) and keyboard player (piano and Roland synth). I've been a sideman for Kathy Mar (Thor Records) Mary Ellen Wessels (Love Song) and Barry & Sally Childs-Helton (Space Opera House) and a member of The Black Book Band (Dodeka).
