SAN FRANCISCO, CA April 12…THE WELCOME MATT is proud to announce the release of Right Outside Your Door an edgy honest and expressive blend of indie rock and folk rock featuring Matt Langlois – vox Rob Sherman– guitar, Rick Munoz – drums & Andrew Lion – bass. Guest appearances include Tucson inhabitant Jacob Valenzuela (Calexico) on horns and keyboardist Rose Ann Dimanlanta (Prince/Sheila E.). Right Outside Your Door is THE WELCOME MATT’s much anticipated fourth and finest album.
“Right Outside Your Door represents a little bit of all things both halves of my musical brain–acoustic and electric. Also politics the dream state, relationships, moving on, breaking out, overcoming obstacles and a strong nod toward the unknown” says THE WELCOME MATT’s front man Matt Langlois, an enigmatic singer/songwriter.
Matt Langlois is a New England native who relocated to San Francisco in 1996 and immediately immersed himself in the local music scene. Matt began writing and performing in Deeper Miscellaneous M, and Buddhakowski and soon found a dedicated following and critical acclamation. A natural storyteller with an expressive voice Matt’s front man talents and songwriting skills are evident.
To date THE WELCOME MATT has released The Welcome Matt (2001) Empire Days (2004) & Coping Mechanisms (2005) all have received glowing reviews and plenty of fans. They have been featured on Fox and NBC. “In San Francisco,” a track from Empire Days received airplay on KFOG 104.5 FM and was included on a KFOG 2004 Summer Sampler compilation featuring some of The Bay Area’s brightest talent. “In San Francisco” can also be heard during San Francisco Giants baseball games in AT&T Park.
