Influences
I was a dedicated Beatle fan for a lot of years. They sparked my intrest in guitar, I'm still in awe of them today.
Neil Young had a major influence on my acoustic guitar style and got me interested in harmonica. When I played in cover bands I did most of the lead guitar work and idolized guys like Joe Walsh, Jimmy Page, Jimmy Hendrix and all the great soloists of the 70's, |
Sounds Like
I've been told that I sound like a cross between Pink Floyd and the Moody Blues. I do covers of Neil Young so I can sound a lot like him if I want. I have a mellow voice that works well for the coffee house circuit. , |
Record Label
I currently produced my own records in a project studio I call Deep Six Studios |
| |
| General
I'm just a regular guy that spends summers in Buffalo enjoying the outdoors and winters just tying to survive.
| Music
My favorite music is classic rock but there's great stuff in all generes. I love guitar solos so David Gilmore Joe Walsh, Jimmy Hendrix, and Eric Clapton are high on my list.
I'm also a big fan of acoustic guitar so artists like CSNY The Eagles and Poco have had a big influence on my style
| Movies
I watch a lot of Sci-fi and mindless action movies but they're not my favorite. Movies like The Shawshank Redemption and Dances With Wolves I can watch over and over again
| Television
I watch a lot of TV but I don't really watch it I usually have it on while I'm doing other things. There's only a couple of shows I watch. House is one of them
| Hobbies
Recording, Gardening and aggrevating my wife. In reality I'm so into music that there's not much room for anything else. I do like playing with computers but I've only achieved semi-geekdom.

As far as the music industry goes, I realize it's a business and like all businesses it's all about making money but I'm tired of the same old artists dominating the media. There's countless talented aritsts that in all likelyhood will never be heard. I listen to the radio and think, is this the best we can do.
The Independent Artiist movement is the best thing that could have happened to music and hopefully people will realize that there are other choices out there.

Born in the Bronx raised on Long Island and currently residng in Western New York Mike has been guitar crazy ever since the Beatles reared their shaggy heads. He honed his guitar skills through numerous cover bands but at heart has always been a song writer.
" In the early years recording was incredibily expensive. A 16 track machine could easily cost 16 grand. Digital technology has changed all that."
In 2004 Mike put together a project studio and produced "In Good Time" followed in 2005 by "Safer Ground"
Both discs have been warmly recieved in the region and Mike is currently finishing up his third CD to be released by years end.
He is currently doing solo work in various venues throughout Western New York and his song "The Race" from "Safer Ground" recently broke into the top 50 in the American Idol Underground Folk competition.
