Songs with political claim
Nizza Thobi continues to draw the thread from historic Wilna to Jerusalem. Poems composed among others, by Chaim Nachman Bialik Yehuda Amichai, Pinchas Sadeh, Abraham Shlonsky, Itzik Manger – all these authors come from Europe and go on creating great works from the Yiddish and Hebrew language in their new homeland Israel. Most of them belong to the great modern Hebrew poets. The authors who were not proficient in Hebrew like Itzik Manger, suffered with respect to literature as being 'abroad' in the diaspora and their poems ebbed away.
