My name is Von Babasin and I am a second generation bassist and co-composer in a world class jazz rock fusion band from L.A. called ONOFFON. We are currently on more than 3,000 websites around the world 42 different digital distribution sites like iTunes SONY Connect, Yahoo Music, MSN Music - as well as CDBaby TowerRecords.com and BestBuy.com. Before these websites came about I can conservatively estimate that our songs have been downloaded more than 250,000 times. We have three CDs released and all three continue to garner the best reviews an artist could receive - all in the independent music world. 2005 was an interesting year... these are a few highlights...
In December 2005, UNSIGNED Music Magazine nominated our song “The Gift Must Always Move” released in 1997 on our first CD Surrender Now, as one of six songs for the title of 2005 Song of the Year.
In April 2005, the International Online Music Awards named ONOFFON as 2005 Artist of the Year on the merits of our second CD Your Mind, released in 1999.
In December 2005, the International Online Music Awards nominated ONOFFON in a total of nine award categories and named our latest CD Bridge to Presage, the Best Album for 2006.
While we have received many features and honors on other websites these are the most special to us. To have all three of our CDs receive recognition in their own respects such as this is about as much as any artist could hope for.
